Project overview

Our team’s acquisition of this client, one of the largest national supermarket chains with over 2,200 stores in 34 states, marked a big win. Our challenge was to transition from an overly complex analog workflow, involving over 30 ServiceNow forms required to provision a single environment for an application,  to a highly custom, sleek, centralized and streamlined experience for the developer community within the organization. Deeply rooted in human-centered design, we successfully built a solution that is intuitive, scalable, extendable to a future state employee portal and reasonable to maintain.

Creating something compelling where nothing was before

The portal is used by DevOps teams, but we wanted to create something that doesn’t require expertise. We were able to reduce complexities and create an experience that lower-level users can navigate with ease. The client loved the utility and beauty of the simplified process and custom UI, securing additional work and future build outs. Great design should be emotive. The portal we built works hard while feeling easy, gently nudging users toward success.

Expanding. Iterating. Building. Repeating.

Design doesn’t happen all at once, but in phases. We have a big project wishlist and backlog. We’ve reached the point where we can begin adding some complexity back in. We’re confident in what next steps should be, thanks to valuable feedback from users. We’re ready to keep going.
